Premiere Stages at Kean University

Premiere Stages is the professional Actors' Equity Association (AEA) theatre company in residence at Kean University, founded in 2004 and launched with its first season in 2005. Based at the Bauer Boucher Theatre Centre in Union, New Jersey, the company is dedicated to developing and producing new plays through its flagship Premiere Play Festival, having developed over 60 new works through readings, workshops, and full productions. Premiere Stages also runs educational initiatives — including the Premiere Play Factory and Camp Premiere summer program — serving thousands of children across New Jersey, and professional development programs (Premiere Artists) that offer Kean University students paid acting roles, AEA affiliation credits, and internships on Equity productions.
