About

O2 Filmes is one of Brazil's most important and creative independent production companies, founded in 1991 by filmmaker Fernando Meirelles, director Paulo Morelli, and producer Andrea Barata Ribeiro. Internationally acclaimed for films such as City of God (4 Oscar nominations), Blindness, and Marighella, the company has grown into a full-service, vertically integrated studio offering advertising production, entertainment (film and series), post-production and VFX (via O2 Pós), theatrical distribution (via O2 Play), and physical production infrastructure including sound stages and equipment rental — making it a unique 'one-stop shop' in the Brazilian market. The company has active partnerships with Netflix, Prime Video, HBO Max, and Globoplay, and is booked through 2028 with productions.
