Estonian Cultural EndowmentFollow

The Cultural Endowment of Estonia (Eesti Kultuurkapital) is a state-owned legal person in public law established originally in 1925 and re-established in 1994, whose mandate is to support the arts, folk culture, physical fitness, sport, and the construction and renovation of cultural buildings through the purposeful accumulation and distribution of funds. It is the primary institution outside the Ministry of Culture responsible for distributing state money to creative individuals, artistic associations, and project-based initiatives across literature, dramatic arts, music, audiovisual arts, visual and applied arts, folk culture, architecture, and sport. The Endowment operates largely independently of political influence, as the majority of its funding is automatically allocated from excise duty and gambling tax revenues.
