Project Summary
Windy City is in development as a television series at Amazon MGM Studios, based on Liz Tomforde's bestselling five-book sports romance franchise. Emmy-nominated writer Alison McDonald is attached to write and executive produce, bringing her experience from Russian Doll, Your Honor, and Nurse Jackie. The series follows a close-knit group of professional athletes—spanning hockey, basketball, and baseball—as they navigate complicated romantic relationships in Chicago. Premeditated Productions is producing under its first-look deal with Amazon MGM, with Liz Pelletier and Sherryl Clark executive producing alongside Tomforde. Julie Jarmon serves as co-executive producer. The book series has sold millions of copies worldwide and generated over a billion Kindle page reads since the first installment, Mile High, launched in 2022. The project joins Premeditated's growing slate at Amazon MGM, which includes adaptations of Fourth Wing and other popular literary properties.
