Veil of Dust

Veil of Dust is an Indian drama from director-writer Dominic Sangma, currently in development and pitching for financing at the 2026 Asian Project Market in Busan. The film centers on a couple whose lives are upended when the husband is maimed by a stone mining blast, leading his wife into a fight for compensation that exposes deeper patterns of exploitation and complicity within their community. Through the couple's children, twelve-year-old Kasanchi and ten-year-old Miklu, the story moves into a mystical realm rooted in indigenous Garo belief. Produced by Anna Films with China-based producer Xu Jianshang returning after collaborating on Sangma's previous features Ma'ama and Rapture, the project has support from Hello Meghalaya and is seeking co-production partners and additional funding. Sangma paused work on the third film in his village trilogy to prioritize this urgent subject. Production could potentially begin by late 2026 according to earlier statements from the director.
