Project Summary
NBC is developing a drama series adaptation of the Finnish crime procedural 66th North Precinct, with Arika Lisanne Mittman attached as showrunner. Mittman, known for creating NBC's The Irrational, will adapt the character-driven series for an American setting, relocating the story from Finland's Lapland region to southern Colorado. The project is being developed through Elevate Entertainment and Universal Television, with Alex Cole and Joe Wiggins executive producing for Elevate. The untitled series follows a former professional boxer who returns with her family to her Colorado hometown and takes up work as a sheriff's deputy, balancing the demands of solving weekly crimes with family obligations while confronting unresolved issues from her boxing career. The Finnish original premiered in 2023 and aired two seasons on YLE, following Detective Inspector Maria Pudas in the world's largest police precinct.
