Project Summary
The Family Disappears is a dark comedy-thriller feature from Fifth Season entering production this November in Atlanta. Swedish filmmaker Jonatan Etzler, coming off his critically acclaimed feature Bad Apples, directs from an original screenplay by Brendan O'Hare. The project reunites producers Nick Weidenfeld and Alexis Garcia, who previously collaborated on the Fifth Season and A24 comedy Friendship. Stars John Cena and David Harbour lead the cast in what's described as a comedy with thriller undertones, following an overworked father's unsettling return home to find his family gone and a newcomer occupying his house. Principal photography is scheduled to begin November 10, 2026 in Atlanta, with Fifth Season producing.
