Project Summary
Garden City is a crime drama written and directed by John Curran, the filmmaker behind Chappaquiddick. The film stars Paul Walter Hauser as Dan Day, a quiet resident of Garden City, Kansas, whose life becomes unexpectedly entangled in a plot targeting the city's Somali Muslim community. Based on the true story of a 2016 domestic terrorism plot, the narrative examines how the threat unfolds and reveals a community grappling with fear, prejudice, identity, and belonging. Magenta Light Studios is producing through Bob Yari and Amanda Harvey, alongside Hauser, Alex Gayner, and Matt Cooper. Production begins in Atlanta this January, with Curran having written the lead role specifically for Hauser.
