Deconstructing Dahlia
Project Summary
Deconstructing Dahlia is a true-crime docuseries in development from Detroit-based production company Talestorm. The project follows a five-year investigation into the unsolved 1947 murder of Elizabeth Short, known as the Black Dahlia, one of Los Angeles' most notorious cold cases. Jeff Thomas VII directs, with Kimberly Lupini and John K. Lupini serving as producers. The investigative team includes former Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley, retired US Marshal Commander Lenny DePaul, former White House Chief Information Officer Theresa Payton, and retired LAPD detective Mike Rothmiller. The production team claims to have identified a primary suspect and uncovered new evidence including a concealed room at a location tied to the investigation. The project has received support from Elizabeth Short's family and is currently seeking a distribution partner.
