Catfish Murders
Project Summary
Catfish Murders is a new true crime series where the internet is not just a backdrop to a crime but part of the crime scene. The internet has connected the world in ways once unimaginable, but an alarming number of online connections are taking a darker turn. With just a few clicks, the digital world can become a hunting ground, where stalkers lure unsuspecting victims into carefully constructed webs of illusion and deceit. Promises of friendship, love, money, and escape are used as bait, manipulating people into false realities that feel safer, richer, or more hopeful than their own lives. And sometimes, those digital fantasies don't just collapse; they turn deadly. Through interviews with police and family, along with clever recreations, the show exposes the dark corners of the internet. The show is produced by Big City Productions and Texas Crew Productions. Episode 103 focuses on the murder of Jack Reid. When a New Hampshire handyman goes missing, later found murdered in the back of his dump truck, police uncover a fictitious client, a phony job, and a long-term plot for revenge, orchestrated by the unlikeliest of culprits. Episode 103 will be filmed on July 22, 2026, in Toronto, ON, Canada.
