When a struggling musician returns to Los Angeles during the weekend of his ex-girlfriend's father's funeral hoping to win her back, a chaotic house party, stolen cocaine, and escalating tensions with her volatile brother spiral into a night of violence that forces everyone to confront the difference between love and selfishness. At its core, this story is about how love without accountability becomes destructive. Every major character claims to act out of love, but their actions are driven by ego, fear, control, or avoidance rather than responsibility and emotional maturity. Ty tries to force his way back into Mara's life while numbing his pain with drugs, Joel expresses love through dominance and overprotection, and Mara avoids confrontation instead of setting firm boundaries. The chaos that unfolds is not caused by a lack of care, but by unhealthy expressions of it. Ultimately, the story suggests that real love requires accountability, restraint, and growth, and that sometimes the most loving thing you can do is let someone go.
