Project Summary
Body in the Closet is a dark comedy series reuniting the Bloodsuckers creative team of director Elin Grönblom and writer-actor Josefin Sonck for Warner Bros. International Television Production Finland. Comedian Axel Åhman stars as Staffan, a country-boy theater employee who accidentally dies while pursuing his crush Betty, then returns as a ghost to haunt her throughout the series. Sonck plays the lead role of Betty and co-wrote the series with Grönblom. The show explores themes of egocentrism and narcissistic family dynamics through dark humor and supernatural elements, set in the Swedish-speaking minority community of Finland. Producer Mia Oikarinen leads the production, with Svenska YLE, the Swedish-language division of Finland's public broadcaster, already on board. Production is scheduled to begin in autumn 2027, filming in Helsinki.
