Project Summary
Bad Toys is a Christmas horror-comedy in development from Rooster Teeth founders Matt Hullum and Burnie Burns. Hullum writes and directs, while Burns serves as executive producer. The project draws on medieval Christmas elf folklore, particularly Scandinavian traditions, to create what Hullum describes as a modern-day holiday adventure. Flatiron Pictures' Suzanne Weinert produces, bringing Austin-based production experience from projects including Lazer Team 2 and Hellion. Pre-production is slated to begin in early 2027, with the film targeting a theatrical release around Christmas 2027. The reunion marks a return to collaboration for Hullum and Burns, who previously co-wrote and produced the 2015 sci-fi comedy Lazer Team together.
