About
Hannah Moscovitch (born June 5, 1978, Ottawa, Ontario) is one of Canada's most acclaimed and widely produced playwrights, screenwriters, and executive producers, based primarily in Halifax, Nova Scotia and Toronto, Ontario. She has written sixteen plays and numerous opera librettos, earning the Governor General's Literary Award (2021), the Trillium Book Award (2014), and the Windham-Campbell Prize from Yale University (2016); her play Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes received its NYC premiere starring Hugh Jackman and Ella Beatty at the Minetta Lane Theatre in 2025, with a return engagement announced for 2026. In television, she is Co-Creator, Executive Producer, and Head Writer of Little Bird (CTV/Crave/APTN/PBS, 2023), which won thirteen Canadian Screen Awards in 2024 including Best Drama Series, and has served as Co-Executive Producer and writer on all three seasons of AMC's Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire / The Vampire Lestat. She is playwright-in-residence at Tarragon Theatre in Toronto and is represented by Marquis Literary.
