David Rubin, CSA is one of Hollywood's most celebrated casting directors, with over 100 film and television credits spanning comedy, drama, and prestige TV. He began his career on Saturday Night Live before collaborating with Lynn Stalmaster and later opening his own office, Firefly Casting, assembling casts for landmark films including The English Patient, Men in Black, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and The Talented Mr. Ripley. A two-time Primetime Emmy winner (Game Change, 2012; Big Little Lies, 2017), he served as the first casting director — and first openly gay man — to serve as president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (2019–2022). His recent credits include Expats (2024) and Apples Never Fall (2025).
