Andrew Lazar (born 1966, New York City) is an Academy Award-nominated American film and television producer who founded Mad Chance Productions in 1995, operating with a first-look deal at Warner Bros. from a bungalow on the studio's Burbank lot. After graduating from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts with degrees in film production and political science, he rose through the ranks at Dino DeLaurentiis Communications before striking out independently. His career spans three decades and includes landmark productions such as American Sniper (2014) — the highest-grossing domestic release of that year with six Oscar nominations including Best Picture — as well as 10 Things I Hate About You, Nyad (Netflix, 2023), George & Tammy (Showtime, 2022), and G20 (Prime Video, 2025), which drew over 50 million global viewers. He currently has a robust slate of projects in pre-production including Kockroach, Dutch & Razzlekhan, and a Marvin Gaye biopic.
