South Pacific Pictures (SPP) is New Zealand's largest screen production company, founded in 1988 and based in Henderson, Auckland. With over 6,000 hours of programming produced across more than three decades, SPP creates drama series, mini-series, telemovies, feature films, documentaries, and reality programming for domestic and international markets. The company is best known as the producer of the long-running primetime serial Shortland Street, the murder mystery series The Brokenwood Mysteries, and the Oscar-nominated feature film Whale Rider (2002). SPP is currently a subsidiary of Banijay Entertainment (formerly under All3Media 2003–2026) and delivers content to broadcasters in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and the UK.
