Second Story Theatre

SecondStory Theatre Company is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit theater organization based in Portland, Maine, founded in June 2024. Its mission is to promote social awareness through theater and musical performance, striving to be a catalyst for accessibility, boldness, connection, diversity, and integral action. The company grew out of a sold-out staged reading of The Laramie Project in June 2023 and produces socially conscious theatrical works for the Portland, ME community. NOTE: A separate entity, '2nd Story Theatre,' operates at 28 Market St, Warren, Rhode Island (phone: 401-247-4200, website: www.2ndstorytheatre.com), described by the Wall Street Journal as 'small town theatre at its best.'
