Piyali Films Pvt. Ltd. is a historic Kolkata-based Indian film production and distribution company, closely associated with the legacy of legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray. Operating as the predecessor entity to Priya Entertainments Pvt. Ltd. (PEPL), Piyali Films produced and distributed some of the most celebrated films in Indian cinema history under the banners of Piyali Films and Purnima Pictures, including Ray's 'Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne' (1969), 'Aranyer Dinratri,' and 'Pratidwandi,' as well as films directed by Tapan Sinha and Arundhati Devi. The company was also one of the largest film distribution entities in eastern India, serving as sole distributor for Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures, and Walt Disney in Eastern India, and is the recipient of the President's Gold Medal for Best Producer for three consecutive years.
