Marvel Animation

Marvel Animation (trade name of Marvel Studios Animation) is the dedicated animation division of Marvel Studios, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, focused on developing and producing animated series and shorts based on Marvel Comics properties primarily for Disney+ and Disney Jr. Operating as a 'mini studio' established in 2021, the division retains in-house creative and executive oversight while outsourcing animation production to partner studios worldwide. Since 2024, the 'Marvel Animation' banner has been the official trade name for all animated output — including What If...?, X-Men '97, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, I Am Groot, Eyes of Wakanda, Marvel Zombies, Spidey and His Amazing Friends, and Iron Man and His Awesome Friends. A separate, older legal entity, Marvel Animation Inc. (incorporated January 25, 2008), also operates under Marvel Studios at the Disney Grand Central Creative Campus in Glendale, California.
