Kulunga Filmes

Kulunga Filmes is a Mozambique-based independent production company founded by director and producer Lara Sousa, whose primary mission is to produce documentary and fiction films by emerging filmmakers from Portuguese-speaking African countries and the southern African region. The company is headquartered in Maputo and operates with the creative ethos of building 'a powerful and risky creative ecosystem' across Cinema and New Media. It has co-produced internationally with partners including Portugal's Midas Filmes and has had projects selected for major platforms such as Locarno's Open Doors, Cinéma du Réel, and the Durban FilmMart.
