Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. is an American holding and intellectual property management company founded in 1923 by author Edgar Rice Burroughs, headquartered in Tarzana, California — the city named in his honor. The company administers the copyrights and trademarks of Burroughs' literary estate, including iconic characters Tarzan of the Apes® and John Carter of Mars®, overseeing authorized adaptations across film, television, publishing, radio, theatrical productions, licensing, and merchandising. Still owned by the Burroughs family heirs, it operates from offices the author himself built in 1927 and has expanded in recent years into active publishing through the Edgar Rice Burroughs Authorized Library imprint.
