About
Dual Effect is an independent Chilean video game development studio founded by twin brothers Gabriel Araneda Quijada and Germán Araneda Quijada. The studio is best known for the survival horror franchise Tormented Souls (2021) and its sequel Tormented Souls 2 (2025), both published by PQube. In July 2026, ZQ Entertainment, Prime Universe Films, and Longevity Pictures acquired the exclusive motion picture and television rights to the Tormented Souls franchise, with the Araneda brothers serving as executive producers on the adaptation.
