Comme des Cinémas

Comme des Cinémas is a Paris-based independent film production company founded in 1993 by Japanese producer Masa Sawada, with strong ties to Japan. The company specializes in producing distinctive, auteur-driven films with directors both in France and internationally, with a particularly strong focus on Japanese and Franco-Japanese cinema. Their acclaimed slate includes works by Naomi Kawase, Kôji Fukada, Ryûsuke Hamaguchi, Kiyoshi Kurosawa, and Bong Joon-ho, and they have been selected multiple times for the Cannes Film Festival's Official Selection.
