Channel 83

Channel 83 Films is a Los Angeles-based independent horror production company co-founded by writer-director Joe Begos and editor-producer Josh Ethier, ACE, who have collaborated since high school. The company is known for producing low-budget, visceral horror features distinguished by practical effects, 16mm film photography, and a punk/grindhouse aesthetic. Its slate includes Almost Human (2013), The Mind's Eye (2015), Bliss (2019), VFW (2019), Christmas Bloody Christmas (2022), and Jimmy and Stiggs (2024/2025). Their upcoming film They Call Him Zorro (in development, 2026) is co-produced with WTFilms and will be shot on 35mm. The company name is a reference to the channel run by Max Renn in David Cronenberg's Videodrome (1983).
