About

Alliance 4 Development (A4D) is a co-development initiative for film projects from Austria, France, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland, hosted by Locarno Pro as part of the Locarno Film Festival. The program selects 11 film projects per year, facilitating one-on-one meetings, pitching sessions, networking events, workshops, and feedback sessions to strengthen projects' international reach. It is supported by national film bodies including CNC (France), FFA (Germany), DGCA-MiC (Italy), ÖFI (Austria), and the Federal Office of Culture/MEDIA Desk Suisse (Switzerland), as well as Eurimages and the European Producers Club. Alumni projects have premiered at Cannes Un Certain Regard, the Berlinale, and Locarno's Piazza Grande.
