Steven Knight CBE (born 5 August 1959, Birmingham) is a BAFTA-winning British screenwriter, director, and television producer renowned for gritty, character-driven narratives. He is best known as the creator, writer, and executive producer of Peaky Blinders (BBC/Netflix, 2013–2022), and is one of three co-creators of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. His film credits include the Oscar/BAFTA-nominated Dirty Pretty Things, Eastern Promises, Spencer, and Maria, and in July 2025 he was announced as the screenwriter of Bond 26 (dir. Denis Villeneuve, Amazon MGM Studios). He is also the founder of Digbeth Loc. Studios in Birmingham, opening in 2025.
