Steven Knight CBE (born 5 August 1959, Birmingham) is a BAFTA-winning British screenwriter, director, and television producer renowned for gritty, character-driven narratives. He is best known as the creator, writer, and executive producer of Peaky Blinders (BBC/Netflix, 2013–2022), one of three co-creators of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, and the screenwriter of Oscar/BAFTA-nominated films including Dirty Pretty Things, Eastern Promises, Spencer, and Maria. In July 2025 he was announced as the screenwriter of Bond 26 (dir. Denis Villeneuve, Amazon MGM Studios), and he is also the founder of Digbeth Loc. Studios in Birmingham.
