Simon David Kinberg is a British-American screenwriter, producer, and director born in London and raised in Los Angeles. He is one of Hollywood's most prolific writer-producers, best known for his decade-long creative stewardship of 20th Century Fox's X-Men franchise — writing and/or producing films including X-Men: Days of Future Past, Logan, Deadpool, and Dark Phoenix (his directorial debut) — as well as producing The Martian (Academy Award nomination for Best Picture) and co-creating the Emmy-nominated animated series Star Wars Rebels. In November 2024, Lucasfilm closed a deal with Kinberg to write and produce a new Star Wars feature trilogy alongside Kathleen Kennedy, and he is also producing The Running Man (2025) and the Star Trek reboot for Paramount.
