About
María Zamora (born 1976, Valencia, Spain) is a Spanish film producer and co-founder of Elastica Films, the Valencia-based production and distribution company she launched in 2021 with distributor Enrique Costa. Over a 20-plus-year career she has championed debut and female filmmakers, producing acclaimed arthouse features including Carla Simón's Alcarràs (Golden Bear, Berlinale 2022), The Rye Horn / O Corno (Golden Shell, San Sebastián 2023), Creatura (Europa Cinemas Award, Directors' Fortnight 2023), and Summer 1993 (Berlinale 2017). In 2024 the Spanish Ministry of Culture awarded her the National Cinematography Prize, and her most recent production, Romería (Carla Simón, 2025), premiered in Cannes Official Selection.
