Kirk Shaw is one of North America's most prolific producers, with over 250 films and television credits spanning more than three decades. He founded Insight Film Studios in Vancouver in 1990, growing it into Canada's largest independent film and television production company with annual budgets exceeding $200 million, and most notably contributed his producer talents to the Academy Award–winning The Hurt Locker (2008). After transitioning to Odyssey Media Inc. in 2009 — a boutique international co-production studio — and then leading publicly traded Wonderfilm Media from 2017, Shaw is currently Co-President/CEO of Ambitious Entertainment, a fully integrated IP acquisition and packaging studio targeting content for streamers and major studios. In 2017, he was inducted into the British Columbia Entertainment Hall of Fame.
