Jonathan Murray Thoday (born May 1961) is a British television executive and businessman who is the joint-founder and Co-Executive Chairman of Avalon — the talent management, television production, and live promotions group with offices in London, Los Angeles, and New York. Since co-founding Avalon in 1993 alongside Richard Allen-Turner, he has served as executive producer on landmark properties including multi-Emmy-winning Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO), Taskmaster (Channel 4), Not Going Out (BBC), Breeders (FX/Sky), and Catastrophe (Channel 4/Amazon). Beyond television, Thoday produced Operation Mincemeat, which won two Olivier Awards in 2024 (including Best New Musical) and a Tony Award on Broadway in 2025, as well as Jerry Springer: The Opera and the historic Newman and Baddiel: Live at Wembley — the first ever arena comedy show in British history.
