Pauline Jane Tranter CBE (born 17 March 1963) is one of the UK's most celebrated television executives and producers, known for overseeing BBC drama commissioning from 2000–2008 — including the landmark revival of Doctor Who in 2005 — and subsequently leading BBC Worldwide Productions in Los Angeles from 2009–2015. In 2015, she co-founded Bad Wolf with Julie Gardner, building it into the largest UK production company outside London, based at Wolf Studios Wales in Cardiff and majority-owned by Sony Pictures Television. Her Bad Wolf executive producer credits include Emmy-winning The Night Of (HBO), His Dark Materials (BBC/HBO), A Discovery of Witches (Sky/AMC), Succession (HBO), Industry (HBO/BBC), and Doctor Who (BBC/Disney+). She is a recipient of the BAFTA Special Award for services to television, an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Television Society, and was appointed CBE in the 2025 King's Birthday Honours.
