Eli Raphael Roth (born April 18, 1972, Newton, MA) is an American filmmaker and actor widely regarded as one of modern horror's most influential voices and a key member of the 'Splat Pack,' best known for Cabin Fever (2002), Hostel (2005), and Thanksgiving (2023). In March 2025, he founded The Horror Section, a West Hollywood–based fan-owned independent horror media company, with Ice Cream Man (August 7, 2026) as its first original theatrical release. Beyond horror, he directed the Amblin fantasy The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018) and earned ensemble acting awards for Inglourious Basterds (2009). He is also an environmental documentary filmmaker and shark conservation advocate, currently finishing post-production on a new documentary with Leonardo DiCaprio as executive producer.
