About
Debra Martin Chase is a pioneering American film, television, and theater producer, and the first Black female producer to have a deal at a major studio (The Walt Disney Company, 2001–2016). She is also the first Black woman to produce a film grossing over $100 million (Courage Under Fire, 1996), with her total box office output exceeding half a billion dollars. As President and CEO of Martin Chase Productions — currently under a multi-year overall deal with Universal Television — she executive produces the hit CBS series The Equalizer starring Queen Latifah and is in production on The Princess Diaries 3. A three-time Tony Award winner (A Strange Loop, Topdog/Underdog, The Outsiders), she is one of Hollywood's most decorated and influential producers across film, television, and Broadway.
