Armando Giovanni Iannucci CBE is a Scottish satirist, writer, director, producer, and performer born in Glasgow on 28 November 1963. He is best known for creating landmark political comedies including The Thick of It, Veep (HBO), and feature films In the Loop, The Death of Stalin, and The Personal History of David Copperfield. In 2024, he launched production company Touchscreen in partnership with BBC Studios, while continuing his relationship with HBO; most recently he co-created The Franchise with Sam Mendes and was announced as writer on Paddington 4 (2026). He is represented by PBJ Management.
