Why Not Productions is a Paris-based French film production and co-production company founded in 1990 by Pascal Caucheteux (CEO) and Grégoire Sorlat (General Manager), specializing in French auteur cinema and high-quality international co-productions. The company is renowned for its long-term partnerships with acclaimed directors including Jacques Audiard, Arnaud Desplechin, Ken Loach, Xavier Beauvois, Lynne Ramsay, and Claire Denis. Over its 35-year history it has accumulated two Palmes d'Or at Cannes, multiple César Awards, and a 2025 Academy Award nomination for Best Picture for Emilia Pérez. Why Not Productions also owns and operates the historic Cinéma du Panthéon arthouse cinema in Paris.
