Videovision Entertainment is South Africa's leading independent film production and distribution company, founded in 1986/1987 by Anant Singh in Durban. The company has produced more than 80 feature films across South Africa, the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Hong Kong, and has acquired over 3,500 international films for distribution in South Africa. It is best known internationally for producing 'Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom' (Golden Globe winner, Academy Award and BAFTA nominated) and 'Yesterday' (South Africa's first Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film). Beyond filmed entertainment, the group has diversified into film studio development (Cape Town Film Studios), live entertainment, telecommunications, and real estate.
