truTV (stylized in lowercase) is an American basic cable and satellite television channel owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, originally launched in 1991 as Court TV before relaunching under the truTV brand in January 2008. The network built its identity around comedy-based reality series — most notably Impractical Jokers — before undergoing a significant pivot in March 2024 toward sports programming, introducing a nightly primetime block under the TNT Sports umbrella that includes live sports, studio shows, and alternate broadcasts. truTV sits under WBD's Global Linear Networks division alongside TBS, TNT, CNN, HBO, and a broad portfolio of cable brands, and is currently scheduled to remain within the new 'Discovery Global' company following WBD's announced corporate split.
