The Winter Film Company is an independent American feature film production company founded and operated by writer-directors Zachary Cotler and Magdalena Zyzak. The company is known for artistically ambitious, politically engaged independent films, including Maya Dardel (2017, SXSW premiere, released by Samuel Goldwyn Films/Orion Pictures), The Wall of Mexico (2020), and When I'm a Moth (2021), the latter two distributed by Dark Star Pictures. Their most recent production, Exit to the Guillotine — a psychological horror-thriller starring Peyton List and Gustaf Skarsgård — wrapped filming in 2026, with a second project, Crusaders (set in Malta), also in development.
