About

The New Yorker Studios is the film and television production arm of The New Yorker magazine, operating under Condé Nast Entertainment. Formally structured as a brand studio in 2020 when CNE reorganized into publication-based studios, it develops and produces documentary shorts, feature films, docuseries, and other video content that adapts or extends The New Yorker's award-winning journalism into long-form visual storytelling. The studio is known for short documentary films distributed via The New Yorker's digital platforms, as well as higher-profile theatrical and streaming features such as Spiderhead (Netflix) and Cat Person. It has collaborated with independent production companies on projects tackling high-profile news stories and social issues.
