Teatro Circulo

Teatro Círculo is a dynamic, community-based, not-for-profit Latino bilingual theater company based in New York City's East Village, founded on September 30, 1994 by Founding Artistic Director José Cheo Oliveras. The company is dedicated to preserving and presenting Spain's Golden Age classical theater alongside contemporary Latin American and Latinx works, serving artists of color and Latinx communities throughout NYC and the tri-state area. Recognized with over 95 ACE, HOLA, and ATI Awards, Teatro Círculo operates out of its permanent home at 64 East 4th Street on New York's Fourth Arts Block, which it co-purchased in 2005. Its programming includes a Mainstage Series, a CallBack Series for independent Latino artists, a Dance Series, Master Classes, Senior Programs, and a Summer Youth Institute.
