Sympathetic Ink

Sympathetic Ink Ltd is an independent British film and television production company based in Highbury, London, co-founded by producer Andy Paterson and screenwriter-producer Olivia Hetreed and incorporated on 29 January 2007. The company specialises in prestige international co-productions and literary adaptations, and is best known for the BAFTA- and Oscar-nominated Girl with a Pearl Earring and the Colin Firth drama The Railway Man. Its active slate includes the ballet drama Margot & Rudi (starring Naomi Watts, shooting October 2026), the limited series Spy Princess (with Freida Pinto), and The Grand Sophy (in development with BBC Films).
