Silver Pictures

Silver Pictures is an American film and television production company founded by producer Joel Silver on June 24, 1980, renowned for producing iconic action franchises including The Matrix trilogy, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, Predator, and Sherlock Holmes. After a 25-year distribution relationship with Warner Bros. ended in 2012, the company restructured as Silver Pictures Entertainment in 2015 through a financing partnership with Canadian billionaire Daryl Katz (Katz Group / OEG Inc.), with Hal Sadoff installed as CEO. Following Joel Silver's resignation in 2019 and subsequent legal settlement in 2021, the company — now fully owned by Katz's OEG Inc. — continues to develop and produce feature films and television, with recent output including Road House (2024) for Amazon MGM Studios and ongoing development of Sherlock Holmes 3.
