Rosa Filmes

Rosa Filmes is an independent Portuguese film production, distribution, and financing company based in Lisbon, founded in 1993 by Joaquim Sapinho. Since its founding in the 1990s, it has served as a platform of creative freedom for filmmakers such as Joaquim Sapinho, João Pedro Rodrigues, Manuela Viegas, Manuel Mozos, and Vítor Gonçalves — all introduced to filmmaking by legendary Portuguese director António Reis. The company is known for producing arthouse and auteur cinema with a strong international festival presence, with credits including films by Albert Serra, Lav Diaz, Lisandro Alonso, Alain Guiraudie, Bruno Dumont, and Martín Rejtman, frequently appearing in competition at Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Locarno, and San Sebastián.
