National Queer TheaterFollow

National Queer Theater (NQT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit theater company founded in 2018 and based in Brooklyn, New York, dedicated to celebrating LGBTQ+ artists and amplifying unheard queer storytellers through visionary theater productions and free community education programs. NQT is best known as the creator of the Obie Award-winning Criminal Queerness Festival, the official theater event of NYC Pride, which showcases new works by queer artists from countries where LGBTQ+ expression is criminalized or censored. Since 2018, NQT has raised more than $1 million for queer and trans artists and has produced work at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, HERE Arts Center, PAC NYC, and New York Theatre Workshop. NQT is also a founding member of the Queer Theatre Alliance.
