MGM Alternative

MGM Alternative, a division of Amazon MGM Studios, is a multiple Emmy-winning leading producer and global distributor of premium unscripted content and formats for television and digital platforms. The division produces award-winning shows including Survivor (CBS), The Voice (NBC), Shark Tank (ABC), American Gladiators, and Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?, among more than 35 shows currently on air or in production across broadcast, cable, streaming, and digital platforms. As of September 2025, the division — led by Barry Poznick — was merged under Amazon MGM Studios and brought under the oversight of Vernon Sanders (succeeded by Peter Friedlander as Head of Global TV in October 2025). MGM Alternative also oversees subsidiary production companies Big Fish Entertainment and Evolution Media.
