About

Mer Film is a Norwegian independent production and distribution company founded in 2011 by producer Maria Ekerhovd in Tromsø, with offices in Bergen, Tromsø, and Oslo. The company focuses on artistically ambitious Norwegian and international art-house films, partnering with directors who have a distinct personal vision. In 2015, it expanded to become a distributor of world cinema in Norway, handling both theatrical and VOD releases. Notable milestones include producing WAR SAILOR (the most expensive Norwegian feature film to date, sold to Netflix globally) and SENTIMENTAL VALUE, which won the Grand Prix at Cannes 2025 — the first Norwegian film to win that award.
