About

Magical Society is a Paris-based animation and entertainment mini-studio, operating under the Mediawan Kids & Family division of French media conglomerate Mediawan, co-founded by veteran animation producer Aton Soumache and celebrated comic book artist and filmmaker Joann Sfar. Originally established as Nice Pictures and rebranded in June 2020, the company is best known for producing animated and live-action adaptations of Sfar's works, including the animated feature Little Vampire. In September 2023, Magical Society expanded into the UK market with the launch of Magical Society UK (registered as Magical Productions Limited), a London-based label led by producer Paul Trijbits, dedicated to both live-action and animated originals as well as adaptations of Sfar's IP.
