About

Maere Studios is an award-winning VFX, animation, and design studio based in New York City, founded in 2016 by Nicholas Ashe Bateman. The studio has grown from producing the microbudget fantasy feature The Wanting Mare into a full-service studio with credits on over 25 feature films, including A24's The Green Knight, Disney's Hocus Pocus 2 and Peter Pan & Wendy, M. Night Shyamalan's Knock at the Cabin, and Ava DuVernay's Origin. Maere has recently expanded into original animation, producing the entirety of Disney+'s An Almost Christmas Story (which won the Special Jury Prize at the 2025 Annecy Film Festival), and is currently in production on its first original animated feature, The Turning Door, co-produced with 2AM and set for a 2027 release.
