About
El Portal Theatre is a historic performing arts complex located in the heart of the NoHo Arts District in North Hollywood, California. Originally built in 1926 as a vaudeville and silent movie house, it was rebuilt after the 1994 Northridge earthquake into a three-theatre complex featuring the 360-seat Debbie Reynolds MainStage, the 96-seat Monroe Forum, and the award-winning Stuart Roger's 42-seat Theatre Tribe. Designated Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument #573, the theatre has hosted musicals, plays, dance, comedy, educational arts programs, and has served as a filming location for numerous film and television productions including Glee, Modern Family, and Licorice Pizza.
